A journey along the coastline on the National Highway NH-17 (Now NH-66) is the most scenic and direct route for cyclists travelling from Mangalore to Goa. This route mainly runs along the Western coastline of the country also passes through famous beach towns of the western region. This is a must go route for those inclined towards rolling terrain, and the ocean. Maravanthe beach and Suparnika River on either side of the road makes this cycling tour a memorable and picturesque.
This picturesque 382 km long coastline road passes through the beach towns of Kaup, Bhatkal, Udupi, Gokarna, Karwar. As this route runs along the seashore it is offering great opportunity to taste variety of seafoods. On the way to Goa, there are lot more to explore like temples, beaches, waterfalls and national parks. Take a leisurely break at Maravanthe Beach, which lies after Udupi, and it also offers splendid views of the Arabian Sea.
