Tamu Kianggeh is a vibrant and authentic market full of local vendors in Brunei. It gets this name because it sits on the banks of Kianggeh River. As it is located close to Badar Seri Begawan, the peoples of Kampong Ayer come to this market frequently.
Hundreds of stalls in Tamu Kianggeh are involved in selling fruits, vegetables, dried foods, herbs, dry fruits, and medicinal plants. Local vegetables in this market are pakis, lamiding, pucuk piai and langkubok and bamboo shoots. Musk-limes and chillies are seen all around the market which is commonly used in Bruneian culinary. Some locals sell handcrafted baskets, trays, tote bags, pots and vase which truly attract the tourists.
Fresh sea foods which are catched from local waters like fish, prawns, crab, squid and shellfish are also in display. Dried foods like dried shrimps, salted fish, dried anchovies and belacan are also sold in many stalls.
It is the only place where you can see countries local vegetables, fruits, meat, fish etc. Some shops in this market are selling cooked foods also.
