Bahrain National Theatre is located in Manama which was the third largest theatre in the Middle East. Bahrain National Theatre was built in an area of 11,869 square metres with capacity of 1001 seats in the Main Auditorium and 150 seats in the Studio Theatre. This theatre built at a cost of $50 million was opened in 2012 by Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (King of Bahrain). Bahrain National Theatre was designed by French company Architecture-Studio. The construction works are lead by Atkins who is a local consultant. This theatre was designed to conduct National and International events. Here also some local and cultural programmes were conducted. Interior walls covered with wood draw inspiration from the tales of 1001 Arabian nights. This theatre is a cubic shaped glass building with artificial lake in front.

National Theatre starts hosting global performance in its opening year itself such as the Orchestra of the 21st Century of Russia, Yanni (legendary composer, keyboardist, pianist), Placido Domingo (Spanish opera singer), the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Ballets (Renowned Classical Russian Ballet company), and Il Divo (classical crossover vocal group). In 2015, this theatre hosts Chamber Orchestra Vienna from Berlin and Giselle a dance show.

In addition it also hosted some cultural and local programmes including the 39th Annual Bahrain Fine Arts Festival (celebrates the creativity and ingenuity of the artists), Korean traditional costume fashion show, press conferences and award ceremonies. This theatre also includes a cafeteria and an outdoor hall which overlooks the lake.

Publics are not allowed to go inside the theatre. Only people who are coming for events will be allowed. Bahrain National Theatre is very close to National Museum.
